Bosa

This quiet riverside town overlooked by a hilltop castle is considered one of the most beautiful “Borghi d’Italia”. In fact, Bosa is a small town with about 8,000 inhabitants characterized by pastel colored houses and picturesque alleys. We loved strolling around the cobbled streets in this colorful place and taking tons of photos. Also, on the top of the hill, there is the Malaspina Castle which offers a beautiful view over the surrounding valley.

Tower of Porto Giunco (Villasimius)

Porto Giunco is one of the most beautiful and largest beaches in Villasimius. Along its long sandy coastline, it’s possible to rent sunbeds and umbrellas. In addition, there is also a lot of free beach space. On the right side of the beach stands the Tower of Porto Giunco. This tower can be reached along an easy natural path of about 500 meters from the parking lot. The view of Porto Giunco beach from the Tower is absolutely stunning.

La Pelosa (Stintino)

When it comes to the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia, it’s impossible not to mention La Pelosa in Stintino. In fact, this beach boasts a crystalline and shallow sea, a true paradise. La Pelosa is located in the northwestern tip of Sardinia, a few kilometers from the small town of Stintino. Keep in mind, this beach is one of the most crowded on the island. For this reason, the entrance to the beach is limited. In fact, it’s possible to enter a maximum of 1,500 people per day at a cost of € 3.5 each. In high season we recommend that you book your ticket weeks in advance, it’s really worth it!

Alghero and the Neptune’s Grotto

This interesting city is located on the west coast of Sardinia. Its old town offers several local craft shops focused on marine coral. About 24 kilometers from Alghero there is the famous Neptune’s Grotto in the marine protected area of Capo Caccia-Isola Piana. You’ll reach the entrance by going down a staircase of 654 steps. Otherwise, you can get there on the boats that depart daily from the tourist port of Alghero. In short, this is a place you should visit at least once in your life.

Su Nuraxi (Barumini)

Su Nuraxi is one of the most important symbols of the Nuragic civilization in Sardinia. The site is located in Barumini in the south-central of the island. Above all, Su Nuraxi has declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The complex consists of a central tower and four corners connected by a bastion, surrounded by a labyrinth of 50 huts. Su Nuraxi is built from volcanic basalt stones and its origins are from the Bronze Age. Moreover, the Nuragic site was discovered in the mid-20th century by Giovanni Lilliu, the father of Sardinian archaeologists.

The Park of Molentargius (Cagliari)

Do you want to see pink flamingos in Sardinia? The Park of Molentargius is the perfect place to admire these pretty animals in their natural habitat. Furthermore, this park was the richest Sardinian basin for the extraction of sea salt for two and a half centuries until 1985. The Park of Molentargius is Just a few kilometers from the center of Cagliari and is open to the public. However, it’s possible to visit the area with pink flamingos and many other unique bird species only accompanied by an official park guide. We recommend that you visit the park at sunset to enjoy a unique experience.

Castelsardo

Castelsardo is one of the prettiest towns in Sardinia, located in the center of the Asinara Gulf in Northern Sardinia. In addition to its quaint colorful houses, this town boasts an imposing castle on its top. Inside the castle you’ll find the Museo dell’Intreccio Mediterraneo, one of the most visited museums in all of Sardinia. Furthermore, on days of perfect visibility, it’s possible to see the eastern and western tip of the gulf from the upper walls of the castle.

Elephant Rock (Castelsardo)

A few kilometers from Castelsardo you’ll easily find this unique rock on the road. In fact, this rock has been eroded by atmospheric agents that have given it the singular shape of an elephant. Moreover, the Elephant rock is also important for the two domus de janas inside, dating back to the pre-Nuragic period.

Porto Cervo and the Grande Pevero Beach

Porto Cervo is much more than the capital of the Costa Smeralda. In fact, Porto Cervo is the center of the worldly life, shopping, jet set and mega-yachts.
